Where to buy ChatGPT Plus in Tunisia in 2026: 4 ways to pay
5 min read
An international card, a virtual card, someone abroad, or a card paid in dinars: the 4 ways to pay for ChatGPT Plus in Tunisia, with the good and bad points of each.

In Tunisia, you can't pay for ChatGPT Plus directly in dinars: OpenAI asks for a Visa or Mastercard that works abroad. There are four ways to get there: an international card from your bank, a virtual card from an online service, someone abroad, or a card bought in dinars from a Tunisian seller such as Karta. None is perfect. Here are the good and bad points of each, so you can pick the one that suits you.
How much does ChatGPT Plus cost in Tunisia?
At the time of writing, ChatGPT Plus costs $20 a month. ChatGPT Pro starts at $100 a month, in several usage levels, for people who hit the Plus limits. Prices change: always check the plans page in your ChatGPT account.
In dinars, the price depends on how you pay. On Karta, at the time of writing, a month of Plus costs about 80 DT, Pro 5x about 400 DT and Pro 20x about 800 DT. The exact price is shown on the ChatGPT page before you order.

1. An international card from a Tunisian bank
This is the most direct way: you enter your card in ChatGPT, and OpenAI charges it every month.
- Good points. You pay OpenAI yourself, with no middleman. The plan renews by itself as long as the card goes through.
- Bad points. You need a bank account and a file to hand in at the bank. These cards have a yearly limit, set by the authorities: each month of ChatGPT takes a part of it, like your other purchases abroad. You pay in foreign currency, and the amount in dinars depends on your bank's rate and fees.
2. A virtual or prepaid card from an online service
Some online services offer virtual or prepaid cards, in dollars or euros.
- Good points. The card is made online, without going through your bank.
- Bad points. The service often asks for an ID. It keeps fees. Some sites refuse this kind of card at checkout. And above all, you have to load the card in foreign currency: from Tunisia, that brings you back to the same problem.
3. Someone abroad
A friend or a family member abroad pays for the plan with their card.
- Good points. It is simple if you trust the person, and you pay OpenAI's price.
- Bad points. You depend on that person every month. The card is theirs: if they change it, or if a payment fails, your plan stops. You also have to pay them back, which isn't always simple.
4. A card paid in dinars from a Tunisian seller
Some Tunisian sellers let you pay in dinars. Each seller has its own solution: always ask what exactly you are buying.
At Karta, it is a Rewarble card. It isn't an OpenAI card: OpenAI's own gift cards only work in the United States. Here is how it goes:
- You pick the plan on the ChatGPT page and pay in dinars.
- You get a code by email.
- On rewarble.com, you create an account, enter the code and pick the ChatGPT card: Rewarble makes a virtual card with a number, an expiry date and a CVV.
- In ChatGPT, you go to Settings, then Subscription, and pay for Plus or Pro yourself with that card.
- Good points. You pay in dinars, with no bank card. You give your password to no one: you are the one who pays OpenAI, on your own account. Rewarble's fee is already counted: the card covers the month you picked.
- Bad points. There is one more step, on rewarble.com. Rewarble may ask for an ID before making the virtual card. The code has an expiry date. Renewal isn't prepaid: you need a new card for the next month. And the price in dinars also counts the seller's service: compare it before you order.
Can you pay for ChatGPT Plus with D17?
Not directly. D17 is a Tunisian app that pays in dinars, in Tunisia. OpenAI doesn't take it: ChatGPT asks for an international card.
What works is buying, in dinars, from a Tunisian seller, a card that then pays for ChatGPT. At Karta, today you pay by transfer from any Tunisian bank, or in cash, in person in Monastir. D17 is coming soon.
What should you check with a seller?
On a site or on social media, ask these questions before you pay:
- Do they ask for your password? If so, say no. With a card, you pay yourself: nobody needs your password.
- Is the price in dinars shown before you pay? A written price avoids bad surprises.
- Who pays OpenAI? It is best if it's you, on your own account. If the seller pays with their card, your plan depends on them.
- What happens if it doesn't work? Ask for the rule before you pay, not after.

Frequently asked questions
Which way is the cheapest?
It depends on your case. With your own international card, you pay OpenAI's price, at your bank's rate. With the other ways, fees are added. Compare the total price in dinars, fees included.
Does the plan renew by itself?
With a bank card, yes, as long as the payment goes through. With a Rewarble card, the virtual card only holds the amount you loaded. Before each renewal, check its balance, and if it's not enough, get a new card.
Do I need a bank account?
For an international card, yes. At Karta, no: you can pay in cash, in person in Monastir.
Pay for ChatGPT Plus in dinars
If you have an international card with enough limit left, use it. If not, open the ChatGPT page: it shows the plans in stock and their price in dinars. A question before you pay? Message us on WhatsApp, 7 days a week: a person will answer.
