PSN card in Tunisia: France, USA or Gulf, which region?

Buying a PSN card in Tunisia: why there's no Tunisian store, how to find your PlayStation account's region, and how to pick the right card or PS Plus.

There is no Tunisian PlayStation Store. So to buy a PSN card in Tunisia, you need a card from the same region as your account, and most accounts in Tunisia are French. Here is how to check yours, and which card to pick.
Why is there no PlayStation Store in Tunisia?
Sony doesn't run a PlayStation store for Tunisia. Every PlayStation account is therefore tied to another country, picked when the account was created: often France, sometimes the United States, Saudi Arabia or the United Arab Emirates.
That country matters, because the PlayStation Store is split by region. A PSN card only works on an account from the same region: a French code won't work on a US account, and the other way round. It's the first thing to check before you buy.
PSN card France or USA: which region should you pick?
The right region is your account's region, not the country you live in. At Karta, you can choose between four regions:
- France: cards of 10, 20, 25, 50 and 100 euros. This is where most accounts in Tunisia are, and it's the default region.
- United States: cards of 10, 25, 50, 75 and 100 dollars, for accounts created in the US.
- Saudi Arabia: cards of 10, 20, 50 and 100 dollars, for Saudi accounts.
- United Arab Emirates: cards of 10, 20, 50 and 100 dollars, for UAE accounts.
The credit buys games, add-ons, in-game currency or a PlayStation Plus membership, on your region's store.
A code from another region won't work on your account. If you're not sure, check before you order.
How do I find my PlayStation account's region?
The easiest tip: look at the currency. Open the PlayStation Store on your PS5 or PS4, or on your phone, and look at game prices and your wallet balance.
- Prices in euros: your account is most likely French (or from another European country).
- Prices in dollars: your account could be from the US, Saudi Arabia or the UAE.
If you see euros but created the account in a European country other than France, or you see dollars and don't know which of the three countries it is, don't guess. Message us on WhatsApp before you order, and we'll help you find the right card.
Creating a PlayStation account in Tunisia: which region?
When you create a new account, you have to pick a country. Since Tunisia has no store of its own, many players in Tunisia pick France. What matters most is to remember the country you chose, because it decides which cards will work on that account.
Think it over before you confirm: Sony doesn't let you simply change an account's region from its settings. If you picked the wrong one, the usual fix is to create another account. Games you bought stay on the old account, which keeps its region.
Already have an account with games on it? Keep it, and just buy cards from its region.
How do I redeem a PSN card?
Once your code arrives by email:
- Sign in to PlayStation Store with an account from the right region.
- Open the menu and choose “Redeem codes”.
- Enter the code: the credit goes to your wallet.
You can then buy your games with that credit, just as if you had paid by bank card.
What about PS Plus in Tunisia?
To play most games online on PS5 or PS4, you need a PlayStation Plus membership. Karta sells the PS Plus Essential plan for 1, 3 or 12 months, in the same four regions: France, United States, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates.
Essential gives you online play, monthly games and discounts on PlayStation Store. The region rule is the same: the code only works on an account from the region you pick. You also redeem it in “Redeem codes”, and the membership starts right away.
You can also pay for PS Plus with the credit from a PSN card, but the PS Plus Essential card saves you working out the amount.
How do I buy a PSN card in Tunisia on Karta?
No international bank card needed. You pay in dinars:
- Open the PSN card or PS Plus Essential page.
- Pick your account's region, then the amount or length.
- Fill in your name, your email (where the code is sent) and your phone number.
- Pay by transfer from any Tunisian bank, or in cash, in person in Monastir.
- A person checks your payment, then the code arrives by email.
- You redeem it yourself on PlayStation Store.
We never ask for your PlayStation account password. Every step is explained in our guide to buying a gift card in Tunisia.
Do you also play on PC?
Steam works differently: Tunisia is part of Steam's Middle East and North Africa region in dollars, and dollar cards work on Tunisian accounts. It's all explained in our article on Steam in Tunisia.
In short
No Tunisian store, so one rule: the card must match your account's region. Check your store's currency, pick the region in the order form, and if you're unsure, message us on WhatsApp, 7 days a week. To order: PSN card and PS Plus Essential.
